A couple of years ago, a few LWML CNH District officers attended a training meeting entitled: Adventures in Equipping Leaders. One of the courses presented was: Me, a Leader? Yes! 

It taught us that we all have different personalities, gifts, and talents to share. Most importantly, we all do have the necessary gift to share: our love for Jesus. Every Christian leader must have their love of Jesus at the core of their service. Stepping out of our comfort zone to accept a leadership role is difficult. But we serve an awesome God who promises to be with us and guide us when we ask.

We are also part of an organization that has excellent resources for most of any type of service or function. With these aides and God’s guiding hand, we can step up and step out into leadership.

Our scripture inspiration for the 2026 convention is Colossians 1:13-14: He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 

We are reminded of the powerful deliverance and redemption we have in Christ. These verses assure us of our transition from darkness to light and the forgiveness of sins through Jesus. 

• Lord Jesus, I thank You for delivering me from the domain of darkness. Guide me continually into Your marvelous light.
• Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the forgiveness of my sins through Jesus Christ on the cross. Help me to live a life that reflects Your grace and mercy.
• Almighty God, empower me to stand strong against any form of spiritual bondage or oppression. Let Your truth liberate me fully.
• God, grant me wisdom to discern spiritual battles and to rely on Your strength and guidance in overcoming them.
• Lord, use me as a vessel to share the message of redemption and deliverance in Christ with others, spreading Your light in a world of darkness. Amen and amen!

THEME: Jesus is our Passport

GOAL: Because God has given us His Holy Spirit through baptism, we are encouraged to share Jesus as our Passport (the Way, the Truth, and the Life), who will take us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son and out of the darkness of this earth.

OBJECTIVES: Through scripture, prayer, praise, worship, and our service ministries and missions, we will:

• Seek and find God in our life’s journey here on earth
• Build our relationships through fellowship and servant events
• Boldly and confidently share Jesus with others
• Realize we already have our passport to heaven

Now that you know the theme, scripture, goal, and objectives, get your artistic juices going and create a logo! Send your logo ideas to Roxan Schwab  and to LaVada Terrell before June 1, when the Board of Directors will vote on them. Once we finalize our convention logo, you can start making your banners and we can work on flyers, and other convention publicity.

A Blessed Easter to all of you!

The women of St. Paul Ladies Guild in Red Bluff hosted an LWML prayer service in their new parish hall on March 27.

Twenty-five people, including men and women from the congregation and several ladies from Trinity Lutheran in Redding, gathered for prayer using the Blessed Are They 2025 Prayer Service written by Rev. Brian Noack. The service, based on the Beatitudes spoken by Jesus during the Sermon on the Mount, was led by Pastor Dallas D. Dubke, and scripture lessons were read by several ladies. Following the service, breakfast brunch was enjoyed by all.

We tried something new in March! Our meeting was held as an after-church brunch meeting, to avoid conflict with Lenten services. Women from Zion, Faith, and Messiah churches brought fixings for a wonderful chicken salad, plus dessert. We had a special guest: Zone President Sheliah Gall, who shared a lot of zone information. 

In lieu of a Bible study following our Lenten service, we shared what our societies are doing: present and future. Our memories always bring up great conversations reminding us of our shared experiences as Lutheran Women of Mission.

We welcomed new church member Sharron Friesner to our LWM Group. Sharron has been with LWML for over 25 years. As part of the Northern Illinois District, she served as zone president and LWML district corresponding secretary. Welcome!

Our congregation collected socks during March for Snack Man, Alfred Sanchez. March is Snack Man’s birthday month and his goal is to collect 3,000 pairs of socks to distribute throughout the year to the homeless population. In April, two members will be attending the Operation Christmas Child Celebration Luncheon in Elk Grove to recognize the organizations that collected boxes in 2024. We have participated in this program for many years.

Alternatives Pregnancy Center offers free medical service ranging from pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, abortion pill reversal, gynecological care, prenatal care, abortion education and healing classes, and parenting classes, as well as adoption referrals.

Their brochure states, “We are a non-profit women’s health clinic, providing women with medical care and alternatives to abortion as we proclaim the hope of the Gospel.” As a non-profit, patients are never charged, and neither insurance nor government funds are accepted.
