Connecting Across Groups: Building a Stronger LWML Community

When women of faith come together, incredible things happen. Across the California–Nevada–Hawaii District, dozens of LWML groups are gathering to serve, grow, and proclaim Christ in their communities. But what if we could do more — together? Building stronger connections across LWML groups can energize ministry, expand impact, and create a powerful sisterhood of support.

Here are six simple yet meaningful ways groups can connect and grow a stronger LWML community:

Invite neighboring churches to your next service project, retreat, or social event. Whether it’s a speaker event, crafting day, or community outreach, these shared experiences create bonds and encourage collaboration. Consider co-hosting a regional event to make it even easier for others to participate.

Pair up with another LWML group and build a long-term sister connection. Exchange prayer requests monthly, send birthday cards between members, or support one another’s mission goals. These connections help women see the larger mission of LWML in action.

Start a regular tradition of submitting short stories, photos, and even upcoming events to the LWML CNH blog or newsletter that celebrate your group’s successes or struggles. When we share how God is working among us, we inspire others — and remind one another that we’re not alone.

Each month, choose a different LWML group within your zone to uplift in prayer. Let them know you’re doing so and ask if they have any specific needs. This act of intercession builds spiritual unity and deepens our awareness of one another.

When it comes to big initiatives—like grant-supported missions or district-wide service efforts — consider how two or more groups might combine resources. One group may have volunteers, another supplies, and together they can make a lasting impact.

Virtual meetings, group chats, or shared online devotionals are great ways to connect between in-person gatherings. We are the Body of Christ, not in isolation but in fellowship. The more we connect, share, and uplift one another, the more joyfully we reflect God’s love to the world.
