From the VP Convention Planning
By LaVada Terrell
We are pleased to announce Dorothy Glenn as our Bible Study Leader for the LWML CNH Convention, April 24-26, 2026, at Doubletree Hotel, Sacramento.
Dorothy grew up in a missionary family, married a Pastor, and is a deaconess and teacher at Sierra Lutheran High School in Carson City, NV, the only LCMS High School in CNH. She has much to share about how the Lord has blessed her on life’s journey.

As Dorothy states in her bio: “I have gained some interesting experiences along the way as my husband and I moved for Seminary, for Vicarage, for a year study abroad, and then to his different calls. I know there is still so much more to learn and ways to grow together as sisters in Christ. I am excited to share my joys and struggles as your dear sister.”

A Lovely Lady Luau: Celebrating Faith, Fellowship, and Gratitude
St. Peter, Lodi, CA

By Roxan Schwab
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the women of St. Peter Lutheran Women in Mission, Lodi, CA, hosted a Lovely Lady Luau to thank our congregation for their ongoing support. Over 100 women enjoyed a delicious meal featuring pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, fresh fruit skewers, Hawaiian Luau pasta salad, and homemade sand dollar-shaped cookies.
The event was emceed by Teri Alberg, who opened with a heartfelt devotion about sea glass, reminding us that God shapes each of us uniquely through our life experiences. Each guest received a piece of sea glass and a handmade hula doll crafted from a clothespin.
The highlight of the day was a joyful performance by hula dancers aged 5 to 15, members of a local Hula Ministry. Their dances to Christian music inspired many attendees to join in and learn a simple hula dance themselves!

Rekindling Fellowship and Service
Our Savior, Pinole, CA

By Shirley Schmeyer
On Saturday, September 27, six Zone 7 women attended the Zone 6 event at Trinity Lutheran in San Rafael. Zone 6 has been inactive for many years, and this was their first meeting. President Carole Wilson greeted us, and we enjoyed fellowship and a great luncheon. Speaker Julie Clemens of LSS (Lutheran Social Services) shared their mission to provide supportive housing services and hope through a compassionate and knowledgeable team. Their focus has been to help youth who are aging out of the foster care system.
We are so pleased Zone 6 is active again and we look forward to working together. Our next project will be making tote bags for the LWML CNH Convention in Sacramento in April.
This month, we enjoyed the Tea–rrific event in Milpitas and planning for a successful LWML Sunday.

Honey for Mites, Mites for Mission
Christ Lutheran, Hilo, HI

By Susan Hendricks, Zone President
Christ Lutheran, in Hilo HI, celebrates Mite Box Sunday every month on the second Sunday. On September 14, beekeepers Susan and John Hendricks had a special treat: Honey for Mites, Mites for Mission. Anyone who made a donation to Susan’s collection pitcher received a jar of local honey to take home with them.
Honey for Mites was also available at the monthly Christ Lutheran Mary Martha group quilting on Saturday, September 19. Overall, over $100 was collected for mites. What a sweet way to support LWML mission goals!
